I See You, Now You See Me.

Thank you for visiting my blog! I love taking photographs that capture the natural joy and excitement of your life and its celebrations. I find inspiration in both small and big moments; the sweet smile of your little ones, a glance between two people in love and the magic of your life's biggest events.

I update my blog weekly, so make sure you stop by often to catch up on my latest photos and to hear about all of the exciting things happening in the lives of my wonderful clients, family, and friends.

I would love to hear your thoughts and to know that you stopped by so please leave me a comment!

Chocolate Days = Happy Days

My mother has come for a visit and since all things chocolate make my mother smile, we headed out for a tour of Theo Chocolate in Fremont.  There wasn’t an Oompa Loompa in sight, but what a cool place Theo’s is - you get an hour tour full of tastings and hairnet-wearing - I highly recommend it!

Seattle snow ‘08!

What fun we had this morning playing in the snow!  I don’t have any proper snow attire for the monkey so I put about three layers of clothing on her and then put some swim trunks and a rain slicker over top of everything in an attempt to keep out the wet.  She had a blast and managed not to get too wet!

Leslie & Bryan ~ Hotel Monte Cristo

Gale force winds and pouring rain did not stop the warmth and fun times at the Monte Cristo last Friday night.  I had a hard time picking just a few of my favorite photos from the evening.  Suffice it to say, the evening went fast, the lighting was tough, the formal pics were tougher, but I had a GREAT time.  Thanks for letting me be a part of your evening Leslie & Bryan - you throw one fabulous party.  To see the “photo booth” photos from the evening - click here - you can ‘right click’ to save your photo, compliments of the bride and groom!

Bryan waited to see Leslie for the first time when she walked down the aisle…

I almost started crying when I saw that Leslie’s dad got choked up during their father/daughter dance…Monte Cristo Everett Wedding picture

They did the bouquet and garter toss, but not before the men serenaded Leslie ‘top gun style’ with “You’ve lost that lovin’ feeling” - I just love how clueless the little boys in the middle are!!Monte Cristo Everett Wedding pictureMonte Cristo Everett Wedding pictureMonte Cristo Everett Wedding picture

Then the dancing got underway while the awesome Jennifer got the photo booth going…Monte Cristo Everett Wedding pictureMonte Cristo Everett Wedding picture

Even Grandma got her groove on…Monte Cristo Everett Wedding pictureMonte Cristo Everett Wedding picture

There are a lot of sweet photos of Leslie’s parents from the evening, but I got so excited to see them on the dance floor having an absolute blast - it’s one of my favorite photos from the night.

~ Family fun at Kubota gardens ~

Even on a nippy day, there is a ton of fun to have at the park.  I met Angie & Jesse’s sweet family at Kubota gardens - it was my first time there and we hiked throughout the garden for almost two hours and I don’t think we even saw the whole thing.  The kiddos Rowan and Zavyen were so excited to show me the pond, waterfall, bridges and the pile of pine cones they hid on their last visit to the park.  Rowan is so talkative and Zavyen is an excellent climber and jumper.  I had a great time with this wonderful family and really hope to see them again!

Engagement session ~ Courtney & Nick

Sunday’s skies cleared up enough in the afternoon for a fun e-session with Courtney & Nick, one of my couples getting married next year.  We started at Volunteer Park in Capitol Hill where the view was so pretty and the sun actually peeked out a couple of times!  We then headed over to the Seattle Downtown Library for some warmth - what a super cool building!  We spent a lot of time in the red hallway where Courtney and Nick heated things up quickly - no ‘PDA’ requests needed here!  Thanks for a great afternoon you guys - here are just a few of my faves…

All you need is love….and a little vacation time

I just wanted to share a few of the faces of my trip back ‘home’ a couple weeks ago.  San Diego was hot, except for the one day that we ventured to the beach!  Even through the fog, my Lily had a wonderful time walking with Grandpa and throwing rocks into the surf.

My childhood friend Joy (Lily’s middle namesake) brought her two girls up to visit with my Grandma - such sweet girls and my G’ma loved every minute of it…

My ‘bff’ Janelle’s daughter is almost one year old - Marly has the most amazing eyes…

and I also got to meet a long time Flickr friend for the first time - Kristen and her Lilly met Janelle, Marly, Lily and I at The Wild Animal Park - we had a great time together and got to feed the lorikeets…

Lily got to pet a deer (she is still telling everyone about that one)!  It was a fast, but very fun week in San Diego - I hope to go back again soon.

~ Being Thankful ~

Some of you may know that I spent last week in San Diego visiting family and friends.  I am originally from San Diego, although I’ve lived in Seattle for a decade now.  I spent time with my grandma, father, my oldest friend from childhood, lots of kids and even saw a few friends from high school that I hadn’t seen for 20 years (boy that makes me feel old!)  I have so much to be thankful for - great friends and a great family, but I am especially grateful this year for my home.  It is small and has way to much animal hair in it, but it is also warm and safe.  Lily and I played out in the front yard the other day to take our ‘holiday photos’ and her little red shoes made me think of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz.  There is no place like home…

Engagement Session ~ Jennifer & Kevin

Sunday, I met with Kevin & Jennifer for their e-session.  They brought their sweet pups Hercules and Tigger along too!  We started at Pike Place Market and Post Alley, headed over to Olympic Sculpture Park and ended the afternoon up at Kerry Park.  It was freezing up there, but absolutely GORGEOUS!  Here are a few of my faves from the day - thanks for a fun day you guys - I’m looking forward to next September!

~ Maggie ~

Saturday, I headed down South to meet 5 month old Maggie & her parents for some photos in their home.  This little miss is the cutest with her natural ‘fauhawk’!  She was such a trouper with all of my ideas & outfit changes.  This family is beautiful & I am so happy to have met them.  Here are a few of my favorites from the day…

~ Liam ~

Last Sunday, I headed down to Olympia to meet with 5 month old Liam and his super cool parents.  We played with bubbles and blocks and wrapped him up in some holiday lights and ornaments.  What a sweet drool face this little one is - thanks for a great afternoon you guys!
